Bis

"Sugar, sugar, Kandy Pop"

Who?
Coming straight out of Scotland, either an irritating bunch of twee wankers with stupid names, or a punk-tartrazine riot of excitement and lovely possibiliities. With stupid names.

Essential?
The start-as-you-mean-to-stay-up-late of Kandy Pop, the debut, is a must-have, but if you want a side of Bis that will make the Hello Kitty hairclips fall from your bunches, Detour will do it. Dance music, adult, and sensual.

In a nutshell, then:
Dumping the backpack, getting less shrill, and more lovable all the time

Never mind the music, give us trivia:
Mercilessly parodied in Lucy Sweet's Unskinny fanzine - "teddy bear rucksacks are COOL!" - you can decide for yourself if Manda Rin's weightloss and reinvention as indiebabe is either a heartening tale for puppy-fat-nursing girls, or another nail in the coffin of the 'you dont have to be foxy to work in the music industry' DIY world...

In more depth:
Bis on Google

Bis fans seem to have made the transition from fanzine to web quite smoothly. Tony Blair's e-envoy will be pleased
