Getting offered a part as a 1,000 year old demon can't seem very much of a way to open an account as a sex kitten, but its wortked for Emma Caulfield. As Anyanka, she spent a thousand years wreaking vengence on men. Her appearance in Buffy was important, for she was our oroute to evil Willow and as such should be thanked on a regular basis. However, shorn of her powers, stuck in our reality and "flunking maths", things got even worse for the bunnyphobic ex-demon when she wound up as Xander's girlfriend. Throughout season 5, Anya's lack of the basics of humanity has been used as a valuable tool to ease some humour into increasingly dark scenarios - her suggestion that dropping a piano on Glory "would work in a cartoon" being typical of her misfiring attempt to grasp situations.
