When the original Nicky Tilsley proved the problems of casting a part when the actor is a new born, the people at Granada came up with a smart idea - somehow, Nicky went to bed one day a slightly podgy spud, and woke up a dumb fuck-toy. Inexplicably, the new Nicky - played by Adam Rickett - announced an intention to go to college, whereas clearly he was more suited to being buggered painfully by old men in return for cash. Adam attaempted to launch a singing career. The records sounded like he was being buggered painfully. Sales were not overly impressive.
